Not particularly the Gaseous and BUSH-I-EOUS energy I mean, but yes! my energy. Being a student of International Relations in India(stressing)plus a mass communication student and working as a part time lecturer of the same, I am unable to understand the disjunction between the two. Indian education counsellors should understand the immaturity arising among the rising students of the subjects. As personal encounter, while studying communication, I always undermined the importance of politics and its science, and, vice versa am feeling now when I am student of politics.
Both the streams criticize each other. The fault line I see is that media or journalism, as a separate issue can be taught but it has to dealt in conjunction with the politics as- probably political communication.
Well! I am here not to remind about the advantages of the Political Communication as a education field. But more of the aspect of communication comes from sociology and anthropology. Foreign Universities deal with the subject in a much larger extent encompassing the aspect of political lobbying and foreign relations. The Indian curriculum of journalism is a smart, pepped up course which has best of all elements of the political science. Little bit of history, little bit of present Indian political situation or the foreign situation, fine small elements of advertisement and public relations and yes of course how the media industry functions.
All the curries served in a Thali- graciously presented and well decorated so that the consumer of the Thali(North Indian or South Indian) gets a taste of every Indian Journalism recipe. Till the time one starts relishing it, it empties off. Consumer's stomach is full without having paid much in for energy and effort to understand the nitty and gritties of each recipe.
Well coming back to the issue of energy, I wonder theorists of the communication and politics must be surprised what am saying and why am I breaking my muscles to write all this! for atleast for once when they were brainstorming their heads to find a way through a problem devising a strategy, ever they would have wondered that why and who is going to study the literature. Well! am not going to let their high spirits go down but yes sir I am! (for the purpose of convenience)!
